Another Kind of Museum from a CURIOUS Cabinet

$700.00

From quite early in this project, a CURIOUS Cabinet, it was my intention to frame the lives of those people mentioned in the letters of William Henry, and I gathered their names together in a file. There were 294 people that Will referred to although all of them were not, in the end, identifiable. After I located Will’s grave in at the Belgian Gardens Cemetery in Townsville I decided to seek out the graves or grave locations of those people he mentions to frame them for this project and as a confirmation of their place in the society in which he lived.  This is an ongoing quest, a quest I don’t expect to complete because the details of where some of the people he referred to ended their days has been difficult to establish.  The approximately 50 images of gravesites were taken by me in cemeteries across Queensland and they are displayed in a variety of frames collected from 2nd hand shops and garage sales during my research trips.

Multiple recycled frames with images of headstones.  Timber table not included.
